These Woods Once Mine

I stare out from beneath the bush,

within the darkness a calming hush.

The leaves crackle underneath my feet

as I waddle further away from the street.

So much to do but so little time

to help save these woods once mine.

As man and monster and all things wrong

destroy my home and drown out my song.
